CPU model: Amd Fx 4300 (32NM)
Cooling solution: Cooler-Master Hyper T2 MOBO (MSI 760GM-p34FX)
RAM specification: DDR3 16 GB Corsair Vengeance (1600MHz)
GPU: MSI GeForce GT 610 (1GB)
Storage: 1TB Toshiba HDD (DT01ACA100)
Operating system: Windows 7 64-bit SP1
Case: Thermaltake Commander MS-I ID ATX Mid Tower
Power supply: EVGA 600 BR
Motherboard and CPU usage: Active for approximately 7 years

The problem seems to lie with the motherboard, especially because I have no prior knowledge about it.
Most straightforward CPUs to push are easy to tweak. Just adjust the CPU multiplier manually from auto. At 20x200 you reach 4000mhz, though voltage changes. Test this setting on auto mode. Running cooler helps—lower temps mean higher speeds. Keep the core temperature at 60°C or below during overclocking. The FX core can handle up to 70°C. For better performance, a better cooler would be ideal; the T2 offers only average results.
