What a great way to start the year. My pc was forcefully shutoff during restart on new years. Once getting past the bios screen it infinitely loads. F keys, (F8 and F2) that I have been told allow you to access recovery or safe mode just send me to bios or ask me to select a boot drive. The bios is some Asus Tuf bios that i have not found to be covered in any guides and after searching for about 30 minutes i could not find any recovery mode access. When exiting bios the computer enters automatic repair mode and has the same infinite loading state and says nothing about repairing any drives or files. The only other thing i can think to note is that on start up the pc immediately shuts off before turning back on, maybe because of it being shutdown improperly while restarting but i have no way of knowing that.

Try launching from a USB drive to verify system functionality; if issues persist, run the SFC /scannow utility.

When I returned, the drive appeared in the log screen. After logging in and running the CMD commands, it reported finding and repairing corrupt files. It’s sensitive, loads slowly, and the task/search bar isn’t fully ready yet. Before restarting, ensure all necessary files are intact and consider checking system logs for more details.

Sure, I recommend backing up your files onto a USB drive while Windows is running. Once you're done, perform a clean installation of Windows if the problems continue—just remember not to back up files on the same USB that will be used for installation, since loading Windows would erase the drive.

I'm experiencing slow startup on the USB drive, similar to before. When trying to back up files, refreshing the desktop in File Explorer doesn't respond properly. It seems like accessing my files might not be working correctly.

I waited roughly an hour for it to start up on the USB drive but didn’t get anywhere, unsure of what to do next if I can’t even reinstall Windows.

It won't start from USB, which makes checking the disk health or reinstalling difficult. I took the boot drive out so USB was the only choice, but it still wouldn’t load after an hour. I suspect the issue might be with the motherboard. After removing the battery, I waited ten minutes before powering it back on, and the problem continued except during the first restart. Now I’m running out of options and planning to look for a replacement board.
