You can format your HDD and install Windows without a key or serial code. Since you received the copy with your laptop, you should be able to activate it using the built-in activation tools provided by the manufacturer or through online activation services.

It doesn't require any additional steps if it's Windows 10, activation will happen automatically

It works perfectly. Where can I get the operating system after formatting?

get it from Microsoft or any reliable source, it's just an ISO file. Avoid sketchy websites—Google can help you out. Search for Windows 10 download and you'll see the top result is from Microsoft.

The Microsoft page will likely suggest installing a tool. That’s acceptable, just remember to configure it for a bootable USB drive. It will fetch the .iso file for you (or at least it did in my previous attempts).

While installing windows, you may encounter "I don't have a product key." This indicates an unactivated copy, but activation is possible on this version. You can find the windows 10 download on Microsoft's site and store it on a USB drive with sufficient storage.

No need to link unless you want a connected account. It depends on your goals and requirements.
