Starting my PC feels unusual today.
Not currently at home; I might share a video later. In brief. - The computer is powered off, I press the power button, and it starts up, fans spin, LED lights up, etc... but only briefly, then it turns off again. It stays off for a few seconds before turning on by itself and seems to function normally. My guess was RAM XMP settings, trying to optimize memory performance, but everything looks okay after checking. I've been using the PC all day without issues, though this sudden activation is puzzling. (specs available in profile)
It still occurs even after turning off all overclocking features on your CPU, GPU, RAM, and InfinityFabric. As components age, they may need higher voltage, which can affect performance. What actions did you take yesterday? Did you update the BIOS, upgrade the PC, or disconnect it from the power supply? Were there any changes to the system that could have impacted it? Have you tried booting with VR completely disconnected and using just a single monitor?
this behavior is normal and not a cause for concern. various motherboards perform different safety checks, such as power on/off cycles. many computers exhibit this pattern. additionally, resetting the CMOS or unplugging the PC can trigger it. likely just a built-in protection mechanism.
Currently I power everything on stock with XMP except RAM which uses XMP profiles. The BIOS was updated about a month ago and I haven't adjusted it since. I ran CPU core stock with undervolting plus FCLK OC and RAM OC, and everything tested stable before and after the update. The only possible change from yesterday is that Windows might have updated while I was away, which could be linked to fTPM—though I'm not sure how that would affect things. This behavior hasn't happened in over two years except when changing RAM profiles, which isn't happening now.
The PSU is quite old, but based on the symptoms you mentioned, it might actually be a Superflower Leadex II. It could still be functional and worth testing, though you should check if the warranty is still valid.
