Start winning ten brings minor delays over time, despite smooth operation
It's been occurring recently, about a day or two ago. I'm running Windows 10 LTSC without any bloatware, and it's performed well over the past four years. However, I'm now noticing occasional brief delays whenever I click, resize windows, move the mouse after a pause, right-click the desktop (especially when menus appear one after another), or when loading files in Explorer. These spikes seem random and don't correlate with any system metrics like CPU usage, disk activity, network speed, or resource monitoring. After rebooting my PC, they sometimes disappear temporarily, only to reappear later in the day. Even with just one app open or no apps running except background processes, it still happens. The issue isn't limited to gaming or browsing; everything else functions normally. I've attached a video of what I'm describing. I'm at a loss for a cause. Any suggestions? It seems to happen across all my monitors, not just the 120Hz one. I tried disabling G-sync without success.
Today I upgraded my graphics card to a RTX 2060 super so it could manage the 2K resolution my main LG monitor displays in games. Still, as I mentioned before, gaming is fine. Even after the upgrade, the problem remains. Basically, unless everything functions properly, it’s just that stutters appear only when I click or right-click something. Here’s another instance: while using an audio editing program, it tries to preview samples from my desktop. The search paths are indexed and stored on my SSD, so they usually load instantly, but now they show the same lag spikes I see elsewhere. You can notice the delay visually with the volume level meter on the screen side. However, I emphasize this isn’t limited to this program—it happens with every one. And after restarting my PC, it disappears for a while before returning. To sum up, this occurs across all applications. IMG_3457.mov
Memory leak detected. Try ISLC, basic solution. *follow the guidelines* confirm it works... if it resolves your problem you may activate the auto-start configuration. https://www.wagnardsoft.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1256
It's odd since memory leaks typically behave this way—works on restart and worsens over time. It might be a background program or a USB device. Could you share a screenshot of your Task Manager startup tab? Also, have you tried using just one monitor? Windows can struggle with multiple monitors sometimes.
All other devices stopped working, yet my main screen started up. Many items seem turned off, though.
I understand, there aren't many of these, but I still suggest turning them off completely to check if it helps. A few might be questionable, while others are just unknown to me.
Wow, interesting situation. I recently installed this program to check my monitor's color profile settings, trying to see how it behaves at startup. Since I didn’t notice any changes, I turned it off in the startup menu and it seems to have stopped the stutters. I’m not sure why this small app was responsible, but I’m keeping an eye on things. I’ll let you know if anything changes. Right now, I plan to remove it from startup.
