It seems like a week ago you installed the cables for his PC and everything worked. Now he’s having issues where it powers on but then goes black after the logo appears. A friend suggested a possible Windows update might be the cause. I’m still unsure what’s going on.
Possible issue: Corrupted Windows - lost boot sequence. SSD or hard drive placed on top priority USB key, causing interference. Disconnect all devices except the monitor and power cable.
Make sure your friend enters the BIOS settings and verify if the boot drive is recognized. It might show a warning if no device is found.
