Occasionally my computer starts with Windows without a display, it displays the login screen when powering on and spins the wheel during window launches, then presents a black screen with a distorted logon sound. I can access Windows and shut down the machine without any visual output, so it functions normally. Usually I use the reset option and it boots after a few attempts—sometimes daily, other times weekly without issues. I've placed a support pad under the GPU to help, but it didn't resolve the issue. I always have the newest GPU drivers from GeForce Experience. Once it boots, everything works correctly and the GPU operates as expected. I've used a display driver uninstaller without any effect. This problem has persisted for over a year. My system details are: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 3070, GAMING ASUS ROG STRIX X570-E, GAMING 2 * G.Skill, 16GB PC4-28800 DDR4 RAM, ADATA SX8200PNP 2TB NVMe SSD, running Microsoft Windows 11 Home (x64), Build 22635.2486. I have a video of the issue (don't ask about the turtle) Jan Edited October 23, 2023 by Moesby_DK Forgot something

Hey Jan, Have you attempted this firmware upgrade? Start with HDMI only and apply the update. https://www.nvidia.com/content/DriverDow...type=Other

I just ran the tool and didn’t notice any changes—it shows "Already updated." It seems to restart normally now, though it did so when it first started. I’m curious if it only fails when the computer is cold; I’ll keep an eye on that. I plan to check again in a few days to see how it performed.

It hasn't taken any action. Have you started secure boot? Also, have you attempted to turn off automatic signal switching on the monitors and instead chose DP or HDMI manually?

Secure boot disabled is incorrect. You should keep it on for safety. I’ll switch your 3 displays to manual input and monitor the results over a few days.

It's fine as long as the CSM remains inactive (legacy boot)

Have you attempted to detach the additional monitors from the GPU to test functionality? It seems like the GPU issue might be related.

I plan to disconnect my two additional monitors and bring back the outcome later this week, since I mentioned earlier that I can restart smoothly in Windows.

Manually choosing the input signal didn't resolve the issue. After the first failed boot, I unplugged my left end monitor (HDMI and center port DP) and it worked fine. Occasionally it boots without problems, so I'll keep an eye on things over the weekend. By the way, the RGB didn't activate on my GPU this time, but my motherboard still looks like a Christmas tree—could that indicate a faulty graphics card?
