Hello there,
when I started my computer this morning, the icons in my start menu disappeared for all manually installed apps (check the screenshot). I don’t know why this occurred and haven’t found a solution yet—neither clearing the thumbnail or icon cache worked, nor did resetting the start menu or repairing repositories, SFC, or SCANOW. Could anyone suggest a way to fix this without reinstalling Windows? Thanks and best!

I fixed the problem. I noticed that when attempting to open a folder from the task bar—like right-clicking on Microsoft Excel or selecting a document from the list and choosing "open folder"—Windows displayed the error "runtimebroker.exe file system error -2144926975". I don’t understand what this means or why it happened, but applying an in-place update using an ISO-file resolved the issue completely.
