Starfield misuses memory placement, causing it to clash with CPU page boundaries. If GPU drivers can't handle this, crashes will occur unpredictably. The game exploits a feature named ExecuteIndirect, requesting guidance from the graphics driver. However, Starfield sends incorrect hints, confusing drivers and creating errors in the command queue. These errors force the GPU to pause and re-evaluate repeatedly. Multiple consecutive ExecuteIndirect calls worsen the issue. Bethesda would erase it completely, and Linux users could accomplish it since it doesn’t affect their code.
