Starfield
Starfield
I own the Digital Premium Edition and played the game all night and into the morning with my specs (see signature). Running Starfield on ultra at 1440p, I'm experiencing 45 to 50 FPS in the city and 90 FPS indoors. On ultra settings, the game runs smoothly without any issues. However, due to strange mirages or shadows near the walls, I adjusted the Render Resolution Scale from ultra to high (62%). After that, performance improved.
My performance would operate just under 60 fps at 1440p using custom adjustments such as reduced shadows and similar tweaks; lowering the resolution scale to 65% helped me exceed 60 fps without blur or poor quality, and I recommend trying it. Also, reducing volumetric effects made a difference.
Uncertain about the reasoning behind releasing games with specifications most PC gamers can't handle, as shown by surveys like Steam's Hardware Survey. Also unclear how claims about playing at certain settings and resolutions hold up when the scaler actually reduces them. It feels contradictory and potentially misleading. This game isn't meant for its intended audience, so my perspective doesn't matter much to developers or fans.
