Reddit is currently offline, so I'm sharing this update. I'm new to StarCraft, though not entirely unfamiliar with it. Today I defended myself against a rush of players focused on cheese strategies—a Korean slang term for using unusual tactics. My opponent sent me medivacs and marines. I started with gg but stayed in the fight. Thanks to my orbital and mule spam, I managed to construct SCVs, siege tanks, marines, and marauders. I reached his base, destroyed everything except his command center (which he flew away from), then later he returned and nearly took it down. He eventually left the game. Any StarCraft fans out there?

It's a series I've always struggled with, especially in real-time strategy games. I'm really bad at them. On the flip side, I find professional-level matches super intriguing. I enjoy observing top-tier gameplay—more is better. The usual trends eventually lose their appeal after watching countless matches.

It's really enjoyable to see top-level gameplay. 300 moves each minute means about five clicks or keystrokes per second. Those players are incredibly skilled.

Appreciating experiences such as SHoutcraft is great because it uses unconventional maps and includes players who aren't all top-tier. It offers some of the most entertaining and unexpected gameplay.

By calling someone extremely talented undermines the effort and skill they invested in achieving such results. Starcraft demands greater practice and commitment than games like MOBAs or FPS, so talent alone isn’t enough to reach that height.

I used to be a top 10 player. I had to quit playing SC II because the higher my rank got, the more stressful it became for me. It was about being precise in timing, micro and macro moves—one mistake meant losing the whole game. Eventually I realized I wasn’t enjoying it anymore; casual play was way more fun. But don't misunderstand, it's still an incredible game.

Absolutely, that's what it feels like. I'm receiving the Legacy of the Void for Christmas.

They definitely invest a significant amount of time. In reality, they dedicate a lot of effort. What I meant was to praise their work, not undermine it.

I scored much better than expected in Brood Wars using only 6pool and probe rushing.
