I recently bought Star Wars: The Old Republic and have been enjoying it smoothly until last night. When I attempted to load the game, it abruptly changed my desktop resolution and refused to start. I tried restarting my computer and uninstalling the game, but it still doesn’t work. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I began using the game in fullscreen windowed mode mainly to handle multiple tasks, though I also wanted to address the issue you mentioned. When the game was running in fullscreen on my Windows 10 MSI GS60 Ghost Pro notebook, the only way to enter was by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete, opening Task Manager, and then using alt-tab. It functioned correctly but was quite cumbersome. Fullscreen windowed mode seemed to be the problem I encountered with a few Windows 10 games.

I just tested what you mentioned, but the game won’t load and I can’t access the options.

Isnt there a settings file or anything that stores these settings? Maybe you can try to change it there

It occurred to me that when I left the game, my screen would automatically revert to the lowest setting, both in-game and on the system. Here’s what you can try: - Remove Bitraider - Launch the game in fullscreen mode, then exit via the Windows key (just dim the window) and adjust your desktop resolution, after that return into the game and change the settings there. Test it and let me know if it helps.

Navigate to AppData > Local > SWTOR > client_settings. Launch client settings using Notepad and adjust the width and height as needed.

They occasionally save the window position, attempt to locate a full-screen setting, and adjust it to windowed fullscreen.

Click right and remove it. Then launch SWTOR and the installer will apply a quick update to check the outcome. You might also attempt to adjust the game's resolution directly in the game files. If you used the express installation, navigate to -Appdata - Local - SWTOR - client_settings.ini and force the change.
