Absolutely, I can handle BF4 at high settings and maintain over 60fps. Far Cry 4 also performs well on my 970M, likely thanks to the dedicated GPU. I doubt the integrated one would reach even 15-20fps, and the temperatures are under control since I just began playing—turned the fan up to maximum for safety. Edit: I’ll test 720p and let you know the results.

It looks like you have a noticeable amount of motion blur, maybe you can eliminate it. Let's review the remaining graphical settings—fullscreen mode could help boost your frame rate.

In 720p the performance is much smoother now. Everything was fine until the CTD, but we're above 30fps even with heavy loads. Still running low; I plan to try medium or high on 720p tomorrow.

It's set on the low preset, so everything is dim. I disabled Anti Aliasing and Ambient Occlusion too, and even tried fullscreen, but it didn't really help much. Unfortunately.

Playing with your power level at maximum performance, avoiding any balanced or subpar settings.

Just head to the origin and download it, got it! That issue used to occur before, especially in Battlefront. It seems like the frame rate is around 30-40fps on low settings, which might be the cause.

I ran it for a few hours on my laptop; mid/high consistently gives me over 30. With an 850m, your 970m should be strong enough.

Running at 850m is definitely on the higher side, but it's not unreasonable if you're aiming for a solid performance. You're right, being able to run 1080p medium is a great goal!
