SOLVED?: After factory resetting my PC and updating the GPU driver, everything works properly. I’m unsure what caused the issue since the factory reset resolved it, and I’m frustrated because I had no other options left.

Did you verify if DX12 mode was activated? If so, it could cause poor loading times and inconsistent gameplay no matter what storage device you used.

Oh yeah, it's really a big issue with DirectX 12 in Battlefront 2.

The frustrating delays came with heavy disk activity, which seemed odd given the game runs on an SSD. I thought it might be a virtual memory issue on my 8GB system. Switching to 16GB virtual memory on a spare 60GB SSD resolved the problem, making load times much better.
