it doesn't require a unique motor, cry includes a complete physics engine.
The engine remains unchanged with half its visual elements still pending implementation. PBR functionality is incomplete. Light boundaries need redesign to prevent light leakage through objects. MSAA, SMAA, FXAA, and TXAA are not yet available. HBAO and SSAO features are also absent. Support for DX12, Mantle, TressFX, and PhysX is still missing. Level of Detail settings are still under development. Fading soft shadows are not functioning properly. Motion Capture work hasn't begun, causing poor animation quality. Procedural Generation is not yet active. Most critically, the engine requires a rewrite in 64-bit double precision to enable free roaming capabilities in space.
It breaks systems because it's not well optimized and each thruster has its own AI; they all needed precise placement for balance. The excitement comes from Chris Roberts' extra attention to detail, but the performance still drops to 3fps on tough days.
