You're finding mouse and keyboard control tricky. When you make a right turn, the ship tends to drift left significantly. To counteract this, adjust your steering input or use stabilizing features. For better control, practice smooth movements and experiment with sensitivity settings. Any other advice welcome!

It can be a bit challenging due to frequent "drift" during races. Consider enabling COMSTAB—it functions similarly to today's traction control systems in modern vehicles.

It requires some time to adapt to your ship's operation. I suggest reading the manual thoroughly so you understand the flight modes and key controls. COMSTAB isn't ideal because it restricts maneuverability, making it difficult to target or follow checkpoints. The most effective way to reduce drift is through boosting (left shift). Going beyond necessary turns is also beneficial. Begin with 35-50% throttle and practice a few loops to familiarize yourself with the route. After learning the checkpoint locations, gradually increase speed until you can complete a full-throttle lap without issues.

The game is quite new when it comes to physics. Your mind is likely trying to act like it's flying through a jet, but it doesn't work that way.

Turn off comstab and G-Safe for one moment... When you shift, a small circle appears moving. It shows the ship's actual heading, just like a balance ball on planes, though not exactly the same. So after turning, it will follow your previous path and settle in the desired spot. To improve, increase your speed through turns. Doing this repeatedly helps you understand how far you can turn quickly without losing control. A HOTAS is also useful for racing, at least for me. The mouse and keyboard are great for dogfighting, but a HOTAS is much better for speed. Remember to always use shortcuts.
