Star Citizen is now available since 2018.
I've been familiar with this title for a long time and find it incredibly impressive. I'm surprised to learn you can purchase the game and try the alpha version. How recently did players first access it? Also, do you have any insight into when the complete release is expected?
It has been available since around 2013 across multiple regions. Initially, it was just exploring your hangar and checking ships as they arrived. We later added arena commander with dogfighting mechanics. Around last Christmas, Star Citizen Alpha 2.0 launched, marking the first release of the persistent universe. It mainly involved repeating missions and flying, but you could customize your experience. I really like Alpha 2.0 now because every Saturday at 9pm BST we host a gathering for all players who join (feel free to sign up on Discord if you wish!). Release date remains undisclosed. Alpha 3.0, announced at Gamescom, is expected later this year, though development may face delays. A single-player update is also planned for next year.
