It’s interesting to observe how different AAA studios operate, ranging from excellent to average to poor. I’d love to explore the hidden aspects that aren’t visible to the public.

I personally felt that if other firms were as transparent as CIG, I would have more backing from athletes.

It seems they had to create their own solutions and largely redesign the core system, so progress appears to be moving smoothly.

The project is progressing. They're actively developing it. We're set to release a game, with the first chapter of Squadron 42 slated for early spring 2017, featuring around 20 hours of story-based gameplay. So far, no other game has released its internal timeline publicly.

The only activity currently is asking about arena commander. There’s a hangar area but it doesn’t involve real gameplay—just exploring and examining spaces before returning to the main menu. Star Marine is expected soon, but traveling to other planets will likely take some time. Without fixed release dates, fans may feel anxious or lose interest. Uncertain timelines can cause frustration for those eager to play. Even if delays continue, people might eventually give up. Predictable schedules could ease concerns and keep support steady. However, repeated postponements risk losing supporters. Marketing alone won’t fix the issue; only a clear timeline helps manage expectations. The game’s development remains ongoing, with new updates offering limited improvements before a full launch. Technical issues will persist even after release. Many have discussed these topics repeatedly in online conversations. The excitement has shifted from a product to a topic of conversation. Success depends on balancing progress with realistic timelines, or it may become outdated as the industry moves on.

I find it hard to grasp your main idea. Your comments keep criticizing Star Citizen and CIG, yet you also admit some points. It seems like you’re repeating similar arguments without adding anything new, and it doesn’t help the conversation.

You don’t have to feel upset about it (I’m not trying to be critical). I back the game and the team. I’m thinking about what others shared in their talks, and they shared their thoughts—though I’m still getting familiar with this space and hopeful about the future, while staying grounded. You don’t need more details if that’s what you prefer. I’ll keep my optimism alive.

During your qualification, I’m still puzzled about the purpose of this discussion and why it could deter others or create a negative impression of the game. What’s the goal of this whole conversation? I don’t feel personally hurt since you haven’t upset me.

@Gyre-Taenn to ignore it because he doesn't understand? I'm with him your points are confusing but I'll try to go through them. (1) Gameplay is arena commander and the mini-pu which consists of some ICC missions, security mission, detective type mission and a keep the arrays off/on depending on if you are a pirate/not, SC is going for quality over quantity but with about 500hrs in game I'd say never leave without your friends. (2) 3.0 should be Jan/Feb yes (3) they have tried this and failed, people are impatient and they tried refusing dates. which is why they release internal target dates, which seems the best compromise (4) bugs do not mean the game is incomplete and unfinished. (5) who cares if the tech is outdated? it's probably best as it means more people that play mmos can join due to lower spec PCS. (6)It's not painful for us to wait, most of us are enjoying the journey still, it's got me into 3d modelling and I've learnt a thing or two about game dev along the way, watching devs respond to the community and make changes as the community suggests something is awesome. You basicly mumble about previous points on the rest so I'm gonna skip that. Chris is attempting a game that will be around for 10-20 years so yes it'll take time but you look at the 2012 video to today's an tell me you expect the tech to be outdated. he'll even the new models for 2.6 would have had 4k nether regions (I believe they have probably barbie'd them now)
