You're new to Star Citizen! It's a space exploration game where you can travel through the galaxy, build your own spaceship, and interact with other players.

Posted in September. Likely from a former staff member expressing frustration over being let go. It doesn’t seem to be a recurring issue for me.

A very wide backing community and development team suggest that a lot of people want this game to come into fruition, including me. No doubt that this is the most ambitious game in a very long time, so obviously it'll have a troubled development and utmost reliance on crowd-funding. But if you followed the game pretty regularly you would see that it isn't a total cash grab. Sometimes the progress looks a little bit inconsistent, but you'll just have to roll with it.

I see it as the level of openness they display when studios reveal genuine projects instead of hastily crafted scripts meant for E3 presentations.

Some folks will likely question the game’s approach, worrying it’s too big or ambitious. That’s why it matters to consider it at all. I’m biased because I supported it before the Kickstarter, but you should trust that the effort put into creating such a large project will be condensed into a single $60 title eventually. Let’s focus not on the timeline, but on what the final product will be.

When and how it occurs depends on the context. Consider timing and methods accordingly.

They host regular events to share bugs, weekly updates on relevant tech, a Q&A session for developers, monthly town halls with top contributors, and release reports plus documentation. They’ve shared an internal schedule and mentioned a demo of Squadron 42 at CitizenCon, though it wasn’t fully polished. To be more open, they could release more content publicly, invite broader participation, and make their processes clearer to the community.

I misinterpreted your point. What I mean is that if these AAA companies were as transparent about their development processes as CI was, they might appear quite similar. Most people only get a glimpse of what happens inside these studios through promotional content released nearer to the launch date.
