It's clear not all readers noticed Jarred's assessment.
A positive excerpt from Steam mentions: 'frame generation on (it might seem a lot but frame gen adds a decent amount of input delay which, on top of the game's issues with input, doesn't make aiming feel great but barely tolerable).'

Played the game for roughly eight hours. It's fine. 5 out of 10.
The gameplay can feel a bit simplistic at times. I tried to enjoy it.

Do your complaints stem from the absence of auto-healing, the necessity to repair weapons and armor, or the demands for basic needs like food and rest? The original STALKER truly set the open-world FPS genre apart alongside Fallout 3.

I kept watching that game for a while. I wasn't a big fan of the originals in vanilla, but I really liked playing Ironman Warfare in Anomaly. It's a bit sad that the game engine can't even support that mode of play. I hope there will be something similar for S2 in the future. With a stronger engine, who knows what could be achieved.
