Hello everyone, I'm building a high-performance setup with two GPUs and intend to train deep learning models continuously. I need a solid motherboard that can handle the workload. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Ideally, an E-ATX model with multiple PCIe 4.0 slots would be great, but having at least two should suffice. I'm planning to use a Ryzen 9 3900x and two 3080 GPUs.

Both Asus and Asrock offer decent workstation motherboards, though they’re typically ATX. I’m not sure if there are EATX options for the x570, just the standard gaming models. Also, you’re right about the Ryzen CPU—running two cards usually pushes it to PCIe 4.0 x8 instead of x16, which is still plenty of bandwidth.

Thanks for the info! I noticed both boards have negative feedback despite their high price tags. Could you confirm if those opinions are reliable? Also, your note about not being familiar with motherboards is helpful—I’ll keep that in mind.

The main issue with the ASUS model appears to be the absence of a 10GBit Ethernet connection, plus the two ports requiring distinct drivers—possibly adding value based on your needs. For the AsRock version, the 10GbitE connection seems unreliable when attempting speeds above 1Gbit, and the Thunderbolt port also struggles in that range. Most users are focusing on overclocking and personal build choices.
