System Specifications.
Mobo: MSI 970
CPU: FX 8320
GPU: MSI R9 390X
RAM: 2x4 Corsair Vengeance 8GB
HD: 1TB
SSD: 250GB
PSU: Corsair CX750M
CPU Cooler: Corsair h60
Operating for 40 minutes.
Set the voltage to .20, CPU idles around 1.29.
I’m not sure if I added enough voltage; maybe I can try a lower setting and see if it still works. Does it really matter?
In general, I’m pushing a lot without much experience. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've adjusted the Fx-8350 to 4.68 with 1.344 volts, 21.5 multiplier, and 218 bus speed. It's still suggested to secure your CPU voltage for better stability during the OC process.

Prime95 is an effective stress test for OCing.

Strongly recommend against increasing the overclock on that PSU, as the R9 390X is already demanding a lot of power, and adding more stress to the PSU.

This PSU should be sufficient, I think. Others have used 700w or even 650w with the same specifications.

It's not the watt rating he's referring to—it's the quality of that PSU. It's extremely cheap for overclocking.

It would be wise to secure your CPU voltage settings in the BIOS as well. It assisted with my overclocking.

This unit is Tier 4, it doesn't perform well under stressful conditions, and failure rates are high.

Usually you should keep your chip within its thermal limits and check the OC stability. If it's stable, that's good. Now you might consider adjusting the vcore slightly. Prime 95 is extremely demanding but it functions. I don't know the specs of your AMD CPU, but I'm sure there are detailed instructions for overclocking available.

But aside from PSU, is the OC fine? Should I lower it to 4.6 ghz and reduce the voltage?
