Beyond certain limits, Arma 3 doesn't significantly improve performance for you. You typically hit around 30fps. At 1080p you're about 35fps and at 4K around 32fps with most settings set low. The 875k frame rate is still much lower than what you get with higher resolutions, though it's not three times slower.

I received a decent 50, though I was experimenting with random video configurations during gameplay.

You're likely to achieve a solid frame rate by adjusting your video configuration and testing different combinations.

No, I haven't tried it manually.

It's unusual for a 3-year-old laptop with an i7 processor and a 675mHz GPU to hit only 30-45 FPS, especially since ARM performance isn't great. Have you checked running it on just one monitor?

your ram speed is quite high, arma prefers fast cpu and memory for smooth performance. I think upgrading to a CPU with a much higher clock speed would help. Also, mac and 8.1 might cause issues—maybe try running it on w7 instead. You could also check the game cache in steam and clear it by pressing shift + numpad, then flush the memory while playing.

Avoid setting everything to maximum performance in games. It can make everything too intense and disable important features like AA. Use this guide for tweaks: http://day0.com.au/forum/arma/638-arma-3...ings-guide. Overclocking can help, but don’t push the render distance. Test your FPS in singleplayer—it’s laggy due to the settings. Also, check if you have an AMD CPU; that might be the issue.

Review everything carefully and see what advice they suggest. It offers one of the most clear explanations available.

According to what was mentioned, your CPU is causing a slowdown. Lower all settings and begin from there.
