I need some guidance on what steps to take since this is my first build and I'm not an expert. I just want the system to run reliably. Right now I'm at 4.2ghz with 1.27v, got a one-hour pass on OCCT cpu linpack at 90% RAM, max temps around 77°C. In other tests I managed 4.3ghz for two hours on Asus realbench with the same voltage. Is this safe to proceed or should I adjust something?

Interesting updates.
Performance at 6800k @ 4.2Ghz - 1.3V is stable; I considered lowering it or boosting the clock since 1.3 works well for 4.2 but can't reach Vios due to keyboard issues during boot.
H100i v2 with 4x8gb Corsair Veng LED
Asus Strix 1070
H440
CPU averages about 57c in Realbench and 59/60 on Aida64. Max temp reached 67c occasionally, though I'm higher voltage.

Interesting.
I'm running at 6800k @ 4.2Ghz - 1.3V. I was planning to lower it since it's stable at 1.3 or try boosting the clock speed, but 1.3 works fine for 4.2 and handles it well. Still can't get vios working because the keyboard stops during boot up on the BIOS stage.

My CPU is averaging about 57c in Realbench and around 59/60 for Aida64. It can spike to 67c sometimes, but rarely. I wonder why my temps are 10c higher than yours despite using more voltage.
Hey bud, that stability was short-lived. Eventually I had to raise the voltage to 1.30-1.31v. Shortly after, the chip failed.
With a fresh chip, I'm at 4.2ghz and 1.29v, and it's survived 12-hour tests. The RAM is causing issues even when running at default settings. If you're stable, keep it as is—most of these chips run at similar speeds (around 1.30v).
Regarding temperatures, benchmarks like OCCT linpak, Intel burn test, and Prime95 (v26.6) will push the chip to its limits. With my new chip, the max was 73c in OCCT and IBT around 60°C. My setup has only one rear exhaust fan, so keep that in mind when comparing temperatures.

SirJabbar shares his experience with various systems and temperatures, noting stability issues and performance changes. He discusses testing different CPU models and voltages, mentioning that a recent upgrade improved stability but caused overheating problems. He also talks about temperature readings during stress tests and how they compare across different setups.
