Yesterday while playing games on my PC, the BIOS stopped recognizing the drives. After reconnecting all cables, a smoke began coming from the SSD when I turned it on. I quickly cut the power. I looked up online and discovered the SSD was using split cables (Molex to SATA), which caused it to burn through the SATA power cable. The issue is that my PSU only supports split cables, and I really want to use the SSD without them.
What do you mean by "split cables"? Please share a photo.
What type of PSU model are you using? Is it a modular one?

My PSU is made by Great Wall and it's non-modular. I don't have more details because it was prebuilt, but it's a 500W unit that functions properly after testing with a multimeter.
