Hello everyone! Recently I experienced an interruption which caused my "d:"/second drive (Samsung 870 EVO 500GB) to cease functioning. Following the disruption, the SSD operated for a few hours but then my PC became extremely sluggish and performed poorly. Upon restarting, it takes about 30 minutes to boot into Windows when the d: drive is connected to the motherboard. My c: drive hosts Windows, while the d: drive remains non-functional, making the system nearly unresponsive when connected. The data on my d: drive is in RAW format, and I’m hoping to recover it if possible. Sending my SSD to a specialist for data recovery would be expensive, as I’d likely need to ship it to the USA after consulting local stores and repair shops. I’m curious if anyone knows of tools that can handle this at home for free? I’ve heard about Samusung Magician possibly retrieving lost data on certain supported SSDs, but I’m unsure how to use it or whether it supports my specific drive. My d: drive locks up the PC, making it difficult to launch programs. The store where I bought the SSD mentioned I still have time to return it for a replacement, but I’d like to try recovering data before sending it back.

Thanks but I've already tested these things. It's also impossible to find the drive in the bios. If I wait for my PC to boot in to windows with the drive inserted, it takes about 30 minutes and my PC are really slow. The fastest way to make the SSD show up in the explorer are by booting to Windows and then connect the drive .

I don’t see the SSD in the BIOS possibly because it needs some time to appear. It usually takes around 30 minutes to boot into Windows once the drive is connected. I think the issue is that Windows attempts to read from the SSD even though it’s not functioning properly, because the data remains raw. Linus demonstrated in a video how to use a command prompt to prevent Windows from reading the new disc. I haven’t tried it yet because I’m short on time, but it might help. Since I can’t take my SSD to a repair shop locally—the nearest one doesn’t handle SSDs and suggested sending it to the USA—which is too costly—I’m unsure if there are any Windows tools available to fix or recover data from it.
