I have the SSD from Ramsta, model R1S800120G, but it isn’t functioning. I’ve checked various troubleshooting steps—tested on multiple computers, swapped power and SATA cables, opened it up—and used a thermal scanner. The scan revealed something unusual.

Isn't this device not recognized in Windows? It might be a faulty controller or a bad fuse on the board. If the same area on the thermal camera is getting hot, that could be the issue. Does it become even hotter there? I don’t think 42.2°C is hazardous, but you should inspect the opposite side for any damage or blown fuses. You can rework the chip and install a new controller—it might work again. It’s not a NAND chip and the storage drive is inexpensive, so unless there’s a real reason to try, it’s probably best to discard it.
