Hello everyone, I stumbled upon a strange problem that I’m trying to resolve temporarily by relocating the SSD. In the near future, I’ll need more space for this. After updating the BIOS and chipset, I encountered an issue where my M.2_2 slot wouldn’t recognize the SSD or power it properly—there was no indicator light on the SSD. I couldn’t find any indication in Device Manager, Storage, or File Explorer that the system was detecting the device. The Event Viewer didn’t show anything unusual either. I’m unsure where to look further in the BIOS, but nothing seems obvious. Moved the SSD to M.2_1 and it worked perfectly—storage was fully recognized and all my files were accessible without any problems. It doesn’t appear to be an SSD-related issue. Anyone have experience with this? Also, it wasn’t a boot drive, but it didn’t show up as an option in BIOS either.

What kind of motherboard are you running? Edit: I made a mistake and didn't see your signature, sorry. Just skip that part. Anyway, because the M.2_2 slot is plugged straight into the CPU, it's unlikely the chipset upgrade was the cause. It could be the BIOS update affected things or the connection point broke—perhaps try re-seating the CPU pin to see if that helps.

Review the previous BIOS or wait for Microsoft to resolve the issue.
