When it functions properly, it handles reading and writing to NAND chips effectively. However, NAND devices have a finite number of write cycles; once this threshold is reached, further operations become impossible, causing the chip to fail.

Is your primary storage drive an SSD? It might be possible.

I think there’s a lot of confusion in this discussion. Windows actually offers a feature to maintain your SSD’s performance, but you might have chosen the incorrect setting. The proper choice is labeled “Degragment and Optimize Drives.” The word “and” here indicates that Windows won’t fully defragment your SSD—it will just optimize it. Selecting this option will launch a window where you can click on the C: drive and choose “Optimize.” This process removes accumulated files, allowing new data to be written more efficiently. I’ve also created a short video for clarity if that would help. https://youtu.be/FGwqZ2SHSA4

Thank you for your feedback. I understand your worries about the initial choice. The goal of that program is to restore system performance by repairing disk fragmentation. Let me know if you'd like more details!

It's old software from earlier operating systems, such as Windows 7 and Vista. When you click it, the command window appears for a moment, confirming you're on Windows 8, then disappears. The system simply doesn't do anything meaningful. Windows 8 employs this updated interface.

Thank you so much for your support. I was concerned about the damage to my SSD, but your reassurance eases my worries.
