The new game is now available on Steam for 40 USD. I wanted to share this with you because it looks like many of you have shown interest in it on this forum.
What's going on? It's surprising! I was expecting a delay until 2016, but now I realize I need to save more money sooner than I thought. Haha!
When someone invests and participates, I'm keen to hear your thoughts.
I decided to go ahead and purchase it. It's compatible with DX11 on my system, which includes an i7-3770 and a R9 390. I think they plan to add it later. *Note: You can enable DX12 mode by using the "-DX12" flag when launching the game, though it isn't currently supported. The engine's full DX12 support is expected in future updates.*
There isn't one yet, but it's designed for 21:9 Ultra widescreen. It aims for a battle-like experience similar to Insurgency or DayZ.
There are Australian hosting options available, though I couldn't locate the developer posts. They mentioned several servers in Sydney and a couple in Perth. I also discovered this browser tool you can open in your web browser: http://squad.rocks/. Regarding Ultrawide compatibility, a Reddit user is reporting distortion where his game appears stretched at 1920x1080 but some comments suggest 3440x1440 looks natural. After trying it out, I think it leans more toward DayZ than Insurgency, sitting somewhere between ARMA and Battlefield.
