CPU build details: I5-13600K, RAM Corsair DDR5 5600, 32GB, MOBO Gigabyte Z790 Auros Elite, GPU MSI 4070TI, PSU Corsair RM750x, OS Windows 11. The problem started about a week ago with strange errors—primarily IRQL not less or equal and system service exceptions. It was slow at first, then I can't even install Windows anymore. Errors showed up in diagnostics, often pointing to driver issues, especially around Intel. Testing revealed I could run separate drives and memory without problems, so it’s likely not those components. Right now I’m stuck with the PSU, CPU, and motherboard. The CPU passed stress tests during a crash scenario but failed after an hour when voltage was increased to 1.35. My guess is the motherboard or RAM module might be faulty. Any advice or ideas would help narrow things down.
I don’t have much background on PSU issues, but I’m ready to take the challenge. My only CPU experience was a total crash, which is what I’ve heard happens most often. That’s why I avoided that as the main cause. The unusual part was how gradually it happened. Manufacturers usually respond with typical IT messages and then hand us the situation. It makes sense from a business angle, but I’d rather not handle multiple RMAs if possible.
The RAM was checked one channel at a time with identical BSOD occurrences. It was tested on two separate RAM modules—one from a functional PC and another from an SSD (Hynix Platinum & Samsung 850). Regarding updates, I flashed the MOBO to the newest release once the problems began, but it didn’t fix them. I also mentioned resetting the BIOS to optimal settings (only XMP was enabled), erasing the CMOS, and reconnecting all components on the MOBO.
