Hello! I’m trying to figure out this unusual noise coming from my CPU. It sounds like a sharp beep that appears intermittently, sometimes after a few hours of inactivity. It continues even when the PC is off, unplugged, and disconnected from power sources. After some time, it starts again. The sound seems unrelated to my phone or other devices, and I’ve checked various electronics in the area. I found a recording here: [link]. You might want to listen closely—especially the high-pitched tone. I noticed it began around late March 2024, but I initially thought it was from my phone. After resetting it, everything seemed normal. Now, a few weeks later, it’s back and I’m still unsure what’s causing it. I’ve tried moving things around, changing power supplies, and even testing different components like the motherboard and RAM. Still, the beeping persists despite removing all possible sources. I’m also curious if it might be linked to my 2015 Wacom tablet or another hardware item. Any suggestions would help a lot—I’m trying not to sleep badly because of it!

barring the possibility you have a frog or cricket in your pc batteries and capacitors often under heat stress start to fail and make shrill and unusual noises this could both explain the intermittent nature of the noise and that it happens when io is unplugged.

Absolutely, check those components carefully.
Yes, definitely mention the capacitors on the motherboard and power supply unit.
