She wants to try a racing game together on your computer. You're having trouble finding options that work well with two monitors and support local multiplayer. Having full controller support would be great. I checked Dirt 3 and Grid 2, but they don’t allow dual monitor local play. It doesn’t matter how old the game is or how detailed it looks—what matters is it meets your needs and is enjoyable.
There's way of doing this but unless you have two excatly same size monitors, its really annoying to setup. There are really few games that support multimonitors natively at all and Codemasters has been skimping on their games lately. For some reason I can't find the tool what I used to test this, I'll check my old posts if its there. Basicly you put two (easiest) monitors so that 1st is top and 2nd is bottom. Since split screen almost always is horizontal split it means that the split is between two screen and windows thinks that screens are actually one bigger screen. Like so:
You’ve found some compatibility info, but running it at 3840x1080 in windowed mode for a seamless split screen across monitors isn’t guaranteed. You’ll need to test or adjust settings to avoid distortion.
Sure, the game seems to work well with that setting. It’s likely enjoyable, though it might be a bit tight for two players, especially at higher resolutions like 2560x768. Playing at 1080p a few times didn’t reveal major issues, but widescreen setups can be tighter.
I don't know of a racing title that relies on a vertical split-screen setup for local play on PC. You might want to explore games with traditional dual-monitor setups or look into titles that support local multiplayer without such a display configuration.
