Hello everyone, so I’m trying to connect remotely to my computer when I’m not at home, like during school. I’ve looked into Linus and Slicks’ Ghetto Shield, which also uses Splashtop. But since I need it outside Wi-Fi, I have to buy something. I’m not sure what. Right now I use the standard Splashtop app for Android on my S4 and the desktop streamer on my Windows 7 64-bit PC. I also found a paid version at https://play.google.com/store/apps/detai...ote.pad.v2. It’s free, but there are other options too: https://play.google.com/store/apps/detai...top.remote and https://play.google.com/store/apps/detai...remote.pad which cost a few dollars. I’m wondering what the main differences are—do any of these offer similar features? If you know of other apps with the same functionality, let me know. Thanks and see you all!

The performance isn’t terrible on 3G. There are a few issues, but the team is responsive and keeps improving through regular updates.

Maybe I misunderstood the situation. I’m not interested in playing games; I just need to handle some simple tasks. Kainy appears to be very into gaming.

It functions well on simple jobs as well. Could you clarify your goal?

I'm not sure exactly, but I just need to look at my homepage and maybe browse through some files or begin downloads. Nothing too heavy on the network.

Kainy could handle it. With enough funds, attempting it wouldn't cause any damage. Keep in mind that preparing the system can be lengthy and there are instances where it may fail completely.

I'll take a closer look. Spending less is better, right? I don't like both options and prefer having just one great app.

You're right, Teamviewer is a good option. It's free and offers a built-in remote desktop feature on Windows.
