Hey there! I’m just getting started with the Ryzen lineup and DRAM overclocking. I have a few concerns about voltages and temperatures. Right now I’m using: ASRock Steel Legend x570 Ryzen 7 3700X paired with this GSKILL RAM: https://www.gskill.com/specification/165...cification. I recently switched from a 3200CL16 kit to the newer 3600CL16 model. The older kit always passed all memory tests without issue. With XMP enabled, I can boot and run benchmarks smoothly, but I’ve noticed some strange errors in Memtest86. On default XMP settings, I consistently fail the “Test 6 Block Move” every other time. After replacing the RAM, the same problem persists. I ran Memtest86 (including the latest beta) and only encountered failures in those block move tests, often every other pass or more. Besides the RAM speed increase, the FCLK has risen from 1600 to 1800 MHz. From what I understand, the block move test is quite demanding on memory bandwidth. I began experimenting with adjusting voltages manually, hoping it would resolve the issues. Each small change in voltage seems to reduce the errors—now I’ve cleared 12 consecutive block moves, compared to just one before. Still, I’m not entirely sure if this is due to better settings or just luck. I’ve also seen improved performance in Cinebench R20 after a few runs.
Now, regarding your questions:
1. Are these adjustments really helping? Should I consider another RMA?
2. Is the voltage setting too high for continuous 24/7 operation?
3. During short prime95 memory tests (1 hour with heavy FFTs), I’m observing 45°C stabilization on the DIMM slots. Is that acceptable?
