Spending the day with The Crew (Beta) was quite an experience.
When they released The Crew, I wasn't particularly interested. Racing isn't my thing—I mostly play Flatout or Dirt 3 but not often. When I finally received a beta code, I approached it with low hopes. I heard mixed reviews about the music and the driving experience, which made me skeptical. At first, the game felt clunky; it ran at 30 frames per second and dropped frequently, and the visuals weren't impressive. But I persevered. Over time, I became comfortable with the controls and even started enjoying the driving. After adjusting settings, I achieved stable performance and found the graphics appealing. The mission design is tough but rewarding, offering a sense of accomplishment when you earn a gold medal. Car customization was satisfying, giving me ample resources to personalize my vehicle from the start. Exploration became a highlight—driving at night in Miami felt like discovering a new country. Switching to third-person view enhanced the scenery, with diverse environments and excellent lighting. Visits to Malibu, Miami Beach, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles deepened my immersion. While the racing is average, it doesn't detract from the overall experience. The soundtrack and chill radio station are decent, especially during long drives. I moved from indifference to genuine enthusiasm. I captured some stunning screenshots you can view here: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/44orima...me_screens
you've got friends around, this should be the top racing game out there. the multiplayer missions sound cool, just wish they'd add a bit more flair. head over there, grab that car, or try out some of the usual stuff.
GUYS GET OVER THE FPS CAP, YOU CAN CHANGE IT EASILY AND WILL BE RAISED I think for a game FPS cap should not be a factor, that would change the whole experience dramatically Anyway, the game is really cool, my favourite feature is the cockpit view, as I can "only" drive cars like that in game The handling is good enough, although personally I am a simulator fan, but it is not bad USA is beautiful, after I left detroit I just realised how huge it is and how detailed! Story is a strong mehh, but it is not horrible The game itself is really awesome, it is basically WoW with cars (bad joke intended)
Absolutely, the entire US is available. This should influence the choice when purchasing a game. The FPS limit rule seems confusing, but it's not too bad. Once you adapt, the game offers plenty of benefits that can balance out the downsides, at least from my perspective.
Test Drive Unlimited 1 (it includes part 2, though it was more...) offers a great experience. Forza Horizon isn't the best, but the cars, driving, tuning, and visuals are impressive. I know it's not perfect, but there are plans to improve it—developers said it will reach 60 fps upon release, and they have an XML file for editing. It's odd that a PC game has a FPS cap, but it seems like something they're working on.
