Hello, I'm trying to manage my fans with speedfan. I have two identical case fans, but I can control the one connected to the 4-pin connector, while the other is connected to the 3-pin connector and I'm having trouble controlling it. Can you help me understand why?

There's a German site with a list of products..
https://www.caseking.de/gehaeuse-und-mod...rsteuerung
Once you've found one, you could search closer to your location.. or just order online..

hello so i'm trying to manage my fans with speedfan. i have two identical case fans. i can control the one connected to the 4-pin connector, but the one using the 3-pin connector doesn't respond, why is that? the fourth pin on your fan connector is a control pin, which explains why you can control the 4-pin ones but not the 3-pin ones.

Oh well, that's frustrating. Are there other ways to reduce the fan speed?

Certainly 3-pin fan headers allow voltage regulation for adjusting fan speed, with the 4th pin used for PWM-based fan control. If your motherboard lacks fan control support, you'll need an additional fan controller.

Some 3-pin fan headers allow voltage control for adjusting fan speed, with the 4th pin enabling PWM control. If your motherboard doesn't support this, you'll need to install a separate fan controller. To check if a 3-pin header supports voltage control, refer to the manufacturer's specifications or documentation.

What do you think about this cable? Would it function properly?

There are internal fan controllers... and they occupy a CD drive bay in your setup. Inside them, you'll find the 4-pin connector, which lets you manage all your fans. Check it out:

how do i check if the 3 pin head has voltage control? they usually don't mention it clearly, so you might need to test it or look up what others say.
