Speed settings and XMP profiles for optimal performance.
Hello, I'm exploring ways to optimize my PC's performance. Recently, I discovered information about RAM and XMP settings. My current setup is a HyperX Fury DDR4 3200MHz 16GB (2x8GB), but it doesn't seem to be reaching that speed. After checking the BIOS, I found XMP disabled, so I tried using "Profile 1" and "Profile 2" options. The results were displayed via CPU-Z. Can I safely increase the speed to 3200MHz? Would this improve performance in games or other tasks? If not, should I skip XMP altogether? Here are my details: Motherboard model Gigabyte H370 Aorus Gaming, CPU i7-9700K. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
You're welcome! It sounds like the issue might be related to your H370 chipset. Your motherboard could indeed have a maximum clock speed limit around 2666MHz, which might restrict overclocking. Check the specifications for your specific model to confirm.
