Speed set to 10 megabits per second on Ethernet.

I've been attempting to adjust the download speed so it isn't capped at 10 mbps. I've tried all possible fixes—new Ethernet cable, changed settings, reset router and PC—but nothing helped. I'm unsure what else to try.

I've run several tests and also installed a game that was 9 GB, which took about 7 hours.

Connecting another device to the same Ethernet cable affects the speed. It may switch to Gigabit/100Mbit if both are supported, otherwise it remains at 10Mbit.

Consider using a different NIC, such as PCI_e or USB. You might also attempt to boot another operating system. If the connection speed returns to normal, we'll determine it's a software problem.

What router are you employing? Which Ethernet device, PC, or motherboard is involved? Are you using a typical CAT5 or superior Ethernet cable? Have you verified in Device Manager under Network Adapters, checking the duplex setting and adjusting it if needed? You seem to have tested various LAN ports on your router to rule out a faulty port. It appears you haven’t tried another computer—perhaps someone has a laptop you could use—or acquiring a different network adapter.
