I recently received a 3700x and observed that under full load it doesn<|pad|> to reach only up to 3998 MHz instead of its full 4.4 GHz. I’m unsure what might be causing this issue—it remains steady at a stable 67°C, and the only settings I’ve adjusted are enabling XMP. Could anyone assist me with this?

The claimed speed boost is for a single-core processor only, not all cores.

It's surprising to hear you're exceeding expectations—your 3900x usually caps around 4.6, but you've only reached 4.2 or 4.3 so far. The full core boost is limited to 4.0.

It's not impossible. Other factors might stop you from reaching the full boost under single core stress, but you should be achieving it or nearly so in most cases. Getting close to 300-400MHz, especially if it was truly a single core load with no peaks, is unusual and not expected.
