I need some guidance on your network setup. My router is in the living room, while my PC is in the bedroom. I connected them directly with a 15-meter CAT 5e cable, and the internet speed was quite fast—around 60Mbps, which is the maximum. During the pandemic, I had to work from home. Now I use the same desk for gaming and working, so my bedroom needs two internet connections: one for my PC and another for my work notebook. I purchased a Mercusys 8-port switch with 10/100Mbps ports. The issue is that when I connect my PC to the switch, the speed drops from 60Mbps to just 10Mbps! I found a FAQ on their site but couldn’t resolve it. I made a chart to show the connections and tried connecting the switch directly to the ISP modem, but there was no internet available—only a local network. I’m using a D-Link router to boost Wi-Fi strength because there are many walls between the living room and bedroom, and the ISP modem’s signal is weak.
@ottoll - Confirm these are Cat5e cables, not regular Cat5, between the switch and computers? Steer clear of sharp bends and EMI from unshielded wires. With a 10/100Mbps switch, your connection speeds will adjust to either 10Mbps or 100Mbps. Verify that both PCs have network adapters configured for full-duplex at 100Mbps.

Sem o switch, ao usar o cabo diretamente do roteador para o computador, obtenho a velocidade máxima de 60Mbps. Em relação aos cabos, o longo de 15 metros do salão até o quarto é um RJ45 CAT6. Os cabos entre o switch e os computadores são RJ45 CAT5e. Não tenho certeza do significado desses nomes. O primeiro parecia funcionar bem antes, sem o switch. A embalagem diz que é CAT5e. Não sou especialista em redes, então comprei online no Amazon. O longo é CAT6. O adaptador de rede está configurado para "modo automático" como estava antes, e recomenda-se pelo FAQ do fabricante que li.
