Before making any changes, verify two points. First, because Speedfan works differently with 3-pin connectors, open the Advanced tab in Speedfan settings and choose Software control for every PWM sensor on your board, cycling through all available chips to locate the right one. Also, look in the BIOS or motherboard manual to confirm whether all your ports include a control chip. My earlier board had a placeholder header that lacked both a sensor and a control chip.
