I can't adjust the RPM of more than two fans besides the CPU. I tested two different ports and five distinct fans. -________- The third fan will run at the highest RPM no matter the port or brand.

Also uncertain whether this should go into software cooling or air cooling?___

Hardware is the topic. Have you checked if the BIOS can manage them?

This MSI BIOS provides limited control unfortunately. Would you like to share this on hardware and end this one?

They use 3 or 4 pin fans depending on the port type. Three pin ports manage either three or four pin fans, while four pin ports are limited to four pin fans. Most three pin ports lack a speed regulator feature.

I would review the bios to verify accuracy. Ensure 3 pin fan headers are configured as DC and 4 pin as PWM?

2 x 4-pin CPU fan connectors and 3 x 4-pin system fan connectors. All fans had 3 pins except the CPU fan. The two working fans also use 3-pin connectors. For details, see the motherboard reference here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6813130697

It could be limited by how much power can be removed from a 3-pin fan. For such a fan, the motherboard reduces voltage to control speed. With a 4-pin fan, the voltage stays constant and the fourth wire directly instructs the fan's operation.

It seems you're considering running two fans and opting for PWM fans instead. :# Your previous setup had a built-in fan controller in the case that managed up to eight fans... you might stick with that for now. lol

You can adjust the speed of 2/3/4 pin fans by linking them with paperclips to the floppy drive connector. Would you like a guide?
