It seems there might be some misunderstanding. If Z490 boards experience stability issues with PCIe systems, it could be related to the operating system installed on M2 rather than the VRM or overheating. The CPU likely doesn’t perform much work before a crash, and your MSI Z490-A Pro motherboard does have decent VRM heatsinks.

Reviewing your motherboard’s guide shows that most PCIe links except for the graphics card pass through the chipset. Therefore, problems likely stem from CPU-to-chipset communication. I heard a theory that Z490 boards were built for Gen 3 CPUs and didn’t account for Gen 3 chips, similar to how a PCIe Gen 3 card in a PCIe 4 slot can sometimes cause auto-settings issues despite being compatible. I’d trust BIOS updates to fix such matters. It hasn’t been reported for years, so it probably isn’t widespread. If you’re facing this, check the board first before testing RAM, unless the 10600K already had issues. The 11900K could also be faulty—there are many factors involved.

MSI Support initially offered some dubious fixes, claiming the motherboard wouldn't work with the 11900K. Later, after linking compatible CPUs from their site, they informed me my RAM was faulty—not incompatible, just broken. It seems I've used four defective RAM sticks for about three years without realizing it, but who am I to question them? Probably they know better. I think I'll give up on the 11900K and switch to a 10900K when it shows up on some local marketplace.
