We’ve observed the 10nm chips running smoothly on a laptop; their performance in a desktop setup would likely match or exceed that of Ryzen 5000 chips.

Welcome to the discussions! You're looking at two distinct product ranges—one focused on high-performance computing with larger heatsinks and superior cooling, while the other emphasizes compact designs where size and weight matter more than thermal performance. If I understand correctly, Intel mentioned that their B SKUs refer to Ball Grid Array technology, which is widely used in laptops for its space-saving soldering method. They might be able to challenge Ryzen's laptop offerings in that segment.

Intel is quietly revealing its chances of competing against AMD. After a 100mV adjustment and turning off power limits, my i5-8265u now runs smoothly like a regular desktop processor. It outperforms the R5 3400G and most of Intel’s and AMD’s four-core chips. Scores like R23 SC-1340, MC-4722, and MC-3745 aren’t the end—thermal throttling still affected it due to my laptop’s limited cooling. Still, with tweaks, the 11th generation could really shine and take on AMD soon.
