Hello, I’m checking if anyone knows about custom firmware for this router. It seems Tenda devices are essentially rebrands of other models. I think it uses a Realtek chipset, but I’m not sure if OpenWRT supports it. Could you share more details about the model or chipset? Your product page is helpful, but more info would be great. Thanks!

According to my understanding, Realtek SoCs aren't compatible with CFWs.

To fix the broken WAN port on your Tenda router, you might need a custom firmware. The repair shop suggested replacing it, but you're looking for an alternative using your LAN port as a WAN solution. Check the product page for compatible options.

When no custom firmware exists and the device can’t remap ports, the task isn’t feasible. Typically, if OpenWRT and DD-WRT lack support for your model, changing firmware won’t work. Online sources suggest some users have managed to install OpenWRT on compatible hardware, but that requires technical knowledge in electronics and programming. If the router’s specifications indicate it won’t handle newer OpenWRT versions, you’re likely looking at a completely different device.
