I'll check the settings after the game updates. Using presets lets you adjust some numbers for better FPS, but performance will vary depending on your environment—less FPS in cities than in open water, that's what I mean.

Adjustments can be made: (in visuals) structures, vegetation, foliage. Detail on objects will decrease. Ground shadows will change. Surfaces may reflect light. Cockpit refresh rate settings (notably for airliners, possibly useful in smaller aircraft too). Some users switch to the "high" setting, then tweak others to medium, low, or disable them. Uncertain if traffic influences performance significantly; hasn't verified, but variety seems to matter.

In fact, I achieved 42 FPS during the most recent test, which is quite solid.

MSFS offers a smooth experience at around 30 frames per second, which is usually sufficient.
