Speaking at 60 frames per second in 1080p resolution
Hi, I recently got a new build with: CPU : Intel Core i5-7600 CPU Cooler : Cooler Master Hyper TX3 EVO Motherboard: Gigabyte H270N Wifi (ITX) RAM : G.Skill Ripjaws V 8GB 2400 SSD : SanDisk SSD Plus 240GB GPU : Sapphire Pulse RX580 4GB Case : Corsair Obsidian 250D PSU : Seasonic 650W-Gold OS : Windows 10 Home Games run fine (tested on Witcher 3, Battlefield 1) but the problem is, there is some stuttering even though it's running at 59+FPS all the time. This is the most obvious in BF1 when looking around/turning I never had any issue with these games on my other build with i5-6600 and GTX 1070 . The only difference other than the CPU and the GPU is the motherboard ( Asus H170 PRO gaming ) Considering that the new build's parts are good enough for 1080p60 and MSI Afterburner proves that, what else can be the cause of such problem?
The other model has a 1070, but it's typical to stutter occasionally in games like those. Battlefield is especially noticeable because it's very CPU-intensive.
However, if both run at 60FPS in the game, it shouldn't be an issue. The GTX 1070 offers more capacity, but it doesn't explain why one might stutter while the other stays smooth.
These prolonged pauses aren't just brief twitches. The actual speed is quite high—60 frames per second or more isn’t very informative. Keep an eye on both GPU and CPU activity to spot any unexpected spikes that might be triggering the stutters.
It's a series of quick nervous feelings, yet long enough to stop me from reacting well when facing enemies up close. I'm not sure the actual frame rate is what it should be—I think it's been set to 60 FPS, the highest I've seen. I'll let you know when I'm back home.
I've tested both with v-sync and without it. Also experimented with disabling and enabling FreeSync, but the jittery frames persist.
The CPU load in both games is moderate, and you're achieving around 60 frames per second without the v-sync limiter.
