I understand there are many similar discussions, but I reached out since none addressed my exact situation. In summary, I require an air cooler and everyone suggested choosing Noctua (likely NH-D15) instead of Arctic, so I followed their advice. After reviewing the specifications, the cooler’s height is listed as 165mm. In my setup, it states the maximum allowed height is also 165mm. For clarity, I have five case fans and ample room (no CD reader) on my Sharkoon SGC1 motherboard. Still, I’m worried about compatibility, so I have two questions: will this fit? And if not, are there alternatives for this cooler if I need to overclock continuously—specifically aiming for 4.7Ghz while keeping temperatures stable? (Most tasks in my PC involve playing League of Legends and sometimes rendering with C4D/Ae). (My motherboard is Z370-A Pro by MSI, if that matters.)

If the maker sets 165 as the limit, it should work but I wouldn't take that chance.
8700K @4.8GHz, Prime95
You might find another cooler on that list or opt for the D14 model as well. It offers comparable results to the D15.

The NH-D15 measures 160mm. It matches the performance of an NH-D15 in terms of capability, yet features an offset base to improve RAM space and overall height. Additionally, case builders suggest the biggest cooler fit, though actual clearance can vary—sometimes just a fraction of a millimeter, similar to the Corsair Spec-04 with its 150mm case, but it still accommodates a 160mm hyper 212. They simply aim to prevent any contact with the sides.
