I recently assembled a new gaming PC, and when I accessed the BIOS to attempt CPU overclocking, the machine failed to boot. The display remained inactive with no signal, and it would repeatedly power on and off. Upon startup, a distinct clicking sound was heard. What could be causing this issue?

Is it a steady clicking or just a single occurrence? A few indicators suggest possible issues such as a damaged or faulty HDD, or a fan with a cable partially lodged inside. If you remove the HDD, does it start up? If not, it might point to problems with the PSU, since some users report clicks or pops when the power supply fails. To the moderator above, I’m unsure why he posted these details—it seems more like troubleshooting steps and eventual advice if the situation resolves properly.

Is it a regular clicking or just an isolated event? There might be signs of a damaged or faulty HDD, or possibly a fan with a cable partially inside. If you remove the HDD, does it start up? If not, it could point to issues with the PSU, since some say a bad PSU causes clicks or pops. To the moderator, I’m unsure why he posted these details—it seems more like troubleshooting and advice if things go in the right direction. It’s just one click.
